Studio Art Joint Program with the School of the Museum of Fine Arts,
Boston
Programs Offered: M.F.A. www.smfa.edu 617-369-3626 The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, in affiliation with Tufts, offers a program in studio art that leads to the Master of Fine Arts-a rigorous course of study that engages and integrates multiple discourses through the development of practical and critical skills across diverse media and disciplines. Students participate in a weekly graduate seminar in their first two years of study and complete four graduate-level, non-studio Tufts courses. However, most of their education is through one-on-one dialogue with faculty members, end-of-semester review boards, and an elective studio curriculum. The School of the Museum of Fine Arts retains more than 150 full- and part-time teachers, each of whom is a practicing artist. A bachelor's degree and completion of four undergraduate art history courses are required of applicants.
