Occupational Therapy

The Department of Occupational Therapy's certificate program provides occupational therapists and occupational therapy students a means of acquiring increased specialization to meet the growing need in the profession for continuing education in rapidly expanding areas.

The certificate program consists of four course credits and is offered in advanced professional study and hand and upper extremity rehabilitation.

The advanced professional study specialization is for occupational therapists who wish to enhance their careers through a substantive exploration of policy and management, assistive technology, aging, or early intervention.

The specialization in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation is for therapists and students seeking expertise in this area. Courses are taught in conjunction with specialists from Massachusetts General Hospital. Certificants are eligible to apply for a hand therapy clinical fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital upon completion of the course series.
